This ad features a cutaway of a New York Central 19000 series caboose, widely used throughout the 20th century.  NYC 19520, currently under restoration, was built in 1917 and was in service until the mid 1960's.  This old "crummy" probably saw over 2,000,000 miles of railroad travel, tagging along behind freight trains on "The Central" for 50 years and through two world wars.
